Sorry it's been weeks since I've last blogged. I had a few more Christmas posts to do, but time got away from me and the busyness of the holidays. I guess they can wait until next year.
Also, I have been mourning the loss of a great woman this week, my Mam. She was my father's mother, and the most wonderful grandmother. I think some people are meant to be grandparents, and she was definitely on of them! She had cancer, and it finally took her away from us the day after Christmas. She was so very sick towards the end, so I am glad her suffering is over, but I am so heartbroken over her loss. I am thankful though, they told us she may only live 6 months with the type of cancer that she had, and she made it almost 6 years! A miracle by the doctor's standards. She once told me she had "too much stuff to get done to croak." She finally got all of the things she wanted done.
Her goal was to make it until Christmas, as she handmade all of our gifts: paintings, quilts, embroidered pillowcases, etc. She finished every last one before she got so sick at the end. And she had her last Christmas. She was very sick and in a lot of pain, but she made it until 5:30 the next morning.
She will ever so lovingly be remembered by everyone that knew her. She was so kind, had a wonderful sense of humor, and you couldn't leave her house without eating something (she thought we all might starve). I will miss her so much, and will hold dear everything she taught me, all of the sewing, recipes, and all of the wonderful time we spent together. Her husband, my Pap, is so lost right now, so I am trying to spend as much time with him as possible. So, sorry if I don't keep up as well with the blog over the next couple of months.
I do have a lot of new recipes and things I want to get done, and I will try to share them all with you in a timely fashion!
